A blessed feast of the Assumption!

Today our “St Michael’s Lent begins”. A blessed feast of the Assumption of Our Blessed Mother into Heaven! Let us ask Our dear Mother’s intercession as we begin this wonderful period and ask that She might draw down upon us many graces.

Of course, although St. Michael’s Lent begins today–as a programme–nevertheless, it being a First Class Feast today, there is certainly no fasting or abstinence.

Let us take a deep breath then today and celebrate this great feast, and as we begin our prayers, meditations and practices today, let us begin our penitential practices not today but soon enough, on Saturday, with our first round of abstinence in addition to our prayers.
